No smoking is permitted inside the unit and in the public areas.
We ask you to be respectful of your neighbors. Play music and watch TV at a moderate level.
If you use the community pools, clean up after yourself and act kindly to other people using the pool and pool area. Follow the posted rules. Treat your vacation surroundings as if they were your own.
Residencias Reef is a drone-free zone. Drones or UAVs may not be operated, taken off, or landed on the property.
Fireworks are prohibited.
Beach, palapas, and beach chairs are available for use by Residencias Reef condo owners and their guests on a first-come, first-served basis.
In Mexico, the first 20 meters (about 60 feet) of the beach from the high tide line is a federal property with unrestricted access. The Residencias Reef private beach extends roughly to the first line of palapas. Again, no lifeguards are provided at the beach, so swim/snorkel with caution.
Be aware and vigilant of wild animals living in or visiting the area. Most are harmless, but in some cases, they may not be people-friendly or dangerous. Please observe them from a distance and do not attempt to feed, approach, or harm them.
There are two community pools — one on the beachfront of the property and another one by Building 3. Follow the pool rules posted by the pool. No lifeguards are provided at either the pools or on the beach.
Public toilets are located by the main pool, and two cold water showers and two freshwater tanks are filled daily to wash the salt residue off your dive equipment. The showers and freshwater tanks are at the foot of the stairs on both sides of the seaside pool.
There is a solarium on the roof of Building 4. Feel free to use it during the posted hours. Sunset views from there are spectacular.
Please park in the parking areas, not directly in front of the building. Parking is free.
The pier next door is the property of the Secrets Aura Hotel. However, it is available for Residencias Reef owners and their guests for their enjoyment and boarding diving/fishing boats. In the latter case, a daily fee of $10 is collected for each person unless you use a dive shop associated with the hotel. You may purchase a $10 bracelet at the Residencias Reef gatehouse to show that you have paid for the right to board a boat from the pier.
Hotels to the north (to the right when facing the water) of Residencias offer various discounted passes for owners and guests of Residencias Reef. A pass includes access to the facility, food and drinks for consumption on-site during the pass period, activities of the hotel, non-motorized aquatic sports, use of pool towels, taxes, and tips. If you purchase a night pass, it does not include access to specialty restaurants.
Please enquire at the Residencias Office, Secrets Aura, or Sunscape Sabor hotels about availability and prices for the passes.
Please do not attempt to trespass and use the amenities of the hotels without purchasing a pass.
South of Residencias Reef, several beach clubs offer food, entertainment, and water activities. Some provide all-inclusive day passes, while others operate on an à la carte basis.
TELMEX provides high-speed Internet through fiber-optic cable. A WiFi mesh covers the entire condo and reaches the main pool area. Both pool areas have separate public WiFi.
Living Room: Samsung 50’’ SmartTV with Amazon FireTV Stick providing complimentary Netflix, Amazon Prime, HBO Max, and the Thunder TV app featuring American, Mexican, Canadian, and other international live programming, movies, sports, etc. Feel free to use your personal accounts to access other TV apps, but please do not change already set users/passwords. See separate instructions in this binder for using the Thunder TV app.
Bedroom: SmartTV with complimentary Netflix, HBO Max, and Amazon Prime. Feel free to use your personal accounts to access other TV apps, but again, please do not change already set users/passwords.
There are two separate air conditioning units — one in the living room and another in the bedroom. Remote controls operate them. For detailed instructions, see the LG AC manual in the binder.
Do not drink tap water. Drink the purified water provided. We also advise using purified water for tooth brushing, cooking, making ice cubes, and rinsing foods. Use the water dispenser for all your drinking water needs. It provides either room temperature or chilled water.
Water for the dispenser is provided in 20 L refillable tanks. To replace a tank (when the red indicator light is on), open the door in the lower portion of the dispenser, remove the empty tank, gently remove the water line inserted into the tank, insert the line into a full tank, and slide the full tank inside the dispenser.
Drinking water is supplied on Wednesday and Saturday mornings. If you need more drinking water than was provided in the condo (usually three tanks), put an empty tank outside the door. The empty tank will be replaced by a full tank for 42 pesos per tank. If you might be away when the deliveryman arrives, you can leave the money in a plastic bag attached to the tank with a rubber band.
The range operates by touch buttons. The on / off switch is on the left side. Select a burner and use + - to adjust the temperature. Go back to 0 to turn off the burner. Touch the on / off switch to turn off all the burners. Burners may turn off automatically when a pot is positioned over the buttons or when they are wet.
Use the left knob to set up the mode of operation and the right knob to set up the temperature. For detailed instructions, see the oven manual in the binder.
Select the cooking time or type of food and touch the Inicio button. The microwave oven manual in the binder provides detailed instructions.
An electric grill is located on the terrace. Use the cord provided to plug the grill into the electric outlet and use the knob to set the desired temperature level. The grill rack can be cleaned in the kitchen sink. Unplug the grill after use.
Turn the power on and press one of the buttons to select the desired wash mode. Dishwashing detergent is located under the sink.

In the bedroom closet.
The safe box is located inside the bedroom closet. Unfortunately, salty air and humidity have affected the electronic lock controls, making them unreliable. Use the supplied key to lock and unlock the safe. In case of any problems, contact the guest manager to open the safe with an emergency key.

Feel free to use the thick yoga/gym pads for stretching, yoga, and workouts. They are stored in the sofa storage compartment in the living room. After each use, wipe them with disinfecting wipes.
They also work well as extra padding on the pull-out sofa.
Remove the top sofa cushion. Use the handles to pull up and out the sofa extension. Pull up and out on the second set of extensions to form a queen-sized bed. Mattress padding is stored in the sofa storage compartment, and again, you can use the yoga pads to provide extra padding. Pillows, sheets, and a blanket are stored in the black credenza in the living room.
Garbage containers are located on the left side of the staircase facing the building. Separate containers are available for recyclable glass and aluminum cans. Please separate recycling.
Due to Mexican plumbing standards, sewage pipes in Mexico are small in diameter and cannot handle toilet paper well. Putting toilet paper or other items in the toilet leads to pipe clogging and other unpleasant consequences. Even if you think it is pretty gross, because it is, please discard all toilet paper, sanitary items, wipes, and anything except human waste in the garbage can. This is true throughout Mexico and in many foreign countries. Thank you for understanding.
Alternatively, you can use the bidet-type sprayer attached to the toilet tank.
Public toilets are located by the main pool.
The e-bikes on the balcony are available for your use and enjoyment. If you would like to use them, please ask the Guest Manager for the batteries and the key to unlock the bikes. He will also provide a liability waiver form for you to sign.
Please wear a helmet and use the bicycles responsibly and safely.
We are not liable for any injuries or damages resulting from their use. You are responsible for any damage to the bicycles, injuries to others, or property damage while using them. You will be required to sign a use agreement and liability waiver before using them.
The bikes feature five levels of pedal assistance and a throttle. Use the + / – buttons on the controller to select your desired level of assistance. To turn on the light, press and hold the + button for a few seconds. The controller also displays your speed, battery level, and mileage (in km).
Please charge the battery using the provided adapter after each use.
Be aware that e-bikes may occasionally behave unpredictably in the humid climate. If the bike behaves unexpectedly, e.g., accelerates without a reason, use the brake handles to cut off the motor or switch the bike off entirely.
Always lock the bikes when unattended—whether in town, at the beach, or in remote locations. For example, if you ride to a restaurant, bar, or beach club, lock the bike nearby or ask staff if there’s a secure place to store it.
The paved coastal road also serves as a bike path. Starting at Palancar Beach and heading south toward Punta Sur, motor vehicle traffic is not allowed, making it ideal for biking. There are also dedicated bike lanes in both directions along the coastal road heading into town.
Please be cautious, stay alert to traffic, ride safely—and enjoy your ride!
A kayak with a capacity for two people is available upon request. Padded seats clip in at the front and back and are stored in the cabinet above the TV in the bedroom. Please ask the Guest Manager to show you where the kayak is stored on the beach racks, provide the lock combination, and give you access to life vests, seats, and paddles.
When not used, the SUP boards are stored deflated in bags under the bed. You may use a manual or an (convenient but noisy) electric pump to inflate them. The pumps are stored in the bedroom cabinet above the TV. The electric pump can be plugged into a power outlet or operated with a rechargeable battery. If you use the battery, please recharge it before you leave.
Do not overinflate the boards. The maximum pressure is 15 PSI, but due to local air and water temperatures, 12–13 PSI is usually sufficient. Please read the manufacturer’s User Guide and Safety Warning booklet in the binder.
You are welcome to keep the inflated boards at the board racks during your stay, but always lock them using the provided locks when not in use. Before departure, rinse the boards with fresh water, deflate them, and store them in their bags under the bed.
Please ask the Guest Manager to show you where the boards are stored, provide the lock combination, and give you access to life vests and paddles.
Before using the kayak or paddleboards, always check the weather conditions. Watch for rain, strong winds, or rapidly changing skies. Be aware of ocean currents—typically flowing south to north—and wave activity. Please do not use the kayak or boards in conditions that could make it dangerous or difficult to return to Residencias Reef. If you encounter hazardous sea conditions, head directly to shore.
If you plan to spend extended time on the water, please prepare accordingly:
Safety First
Launching Tips
If you head south (left when the beach is behind you), you’ll pass several beach clubs and eventually reach more secluded stretches of coast.
When you have finished using the kayak or paddleboards, please return them to the board rack where you found them and lock them securely. Residencias Reef groundskeepers and staff are not responsible for our recreational equipment.
Please deflate the boards and store them under the bed in the bags provided before you leave.
We are not liable for any injuries or damages resulting from their use. You are responsible for any damage to the kayak or boards, injuries to others, or property damage caused while using them. You will be required to sign a use agreement and liability waiver before using them.
